Montepulciano | Sangiovese
The Montepulciano (60%) and the Sangiovese (40%) grapes are hand and mechanically harvested from hillside vineyards in the Ascoli Piceno province in the Marche. On arrival at the winery, the grapes are placed in a tank for the 'free-run' juice to run off whilst allowing a brief period of skin contact. The must is fermented at controlled temperatures in tank. The wine then matures 'Sur Lie' for 3 months in tank before bottling and release.
