Dense black cherry colour with purple reflections. On the nose the aromatic intensity of the Syrah reveals notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, pepper and violet. Harmonious tannins, rich and concentrated. On the palate aromas of jammy black fruits, liquorice and spices.

Country and Region: France,Languedoc Roussillon

Classification: AOP Corbières Mediterraée

Producer: Chateau Fabre Cordon

Wine Style: Red

Grape Varieties : Grenache | Syrah

Vinification: 90% Syrah and 10% Grenache Noir blend. The yields are naturally very low from the slopes of the Fabre Cordon estate which allows beautiful fruit concentration. The vineyards are aided by the Mediterranean sunshine, the Mistral wind and the clayey-limestone soil, heavy with stones, perfect for the development of both grape varieties. The Syrah grapes are harvested first in the last 10 days of September at full maturity. Each grape variety is processed separately. The Syrah is vinified with the aim of obtaining optimal fruit extraction with frequent pumpovers and 'punching down'. The Grenache Noir is vinified with a slightly 'sweeter' process retaining the airy, light bodied character of the Mediterranean Grenache. The wine is aged for two years in vats in the Fabre Cordon cellar and the final blend of the two grape varieties is carried out just before bottling.
