Trebbiano di Lugana
The Trebbiano di Lugana which are known locally as 'Turbiana' grapes are hand harvested in September from one of the oldest Lugana vineyards, known as 'Vigna del Moraro Verde'. A single, 4 acre vineyard with 40 year old vines which Nadia Zenato and Carla Prospero chose after a careful search and study of indigenous, naturally forming yeasts.
On arrival at the winery, the grapes are destalked with light pressing and a natural clarification of the must. The wine is then fermented using traditional winemaking techniques in small stainless steel tanks using the indigenous yeasts naturally present on the grapes for 20 days at controlled temperatures (18°C). The wine is then refined in tank 'sur lie' for 9 months before bottling.
A project developed since 2012, the idea for this wine arose from Nadia Zenato's desire to deepen the bond with the land of Garda. Due Bicchieri - Gambero Rosso '17
