'Poggio ai Frati' Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Rocca di Castagnoli
'Poggio ai Frati' Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Rocca di Castagnoli
"The 2011 Chianti Classico Riserva Poggio a'Frati is gorgeous. Succulent, round and inviting, the 2011 captures the essence of the year in its expressive, welcoming personality. Succulent dark cherry, kirsch, mint, rose petal, spice and sweet tobacco overtones add nuance on the generous finish." Drinking window: 2015-2023. Score - 91. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, July 2015) Elegant wine with very interesting complexity and structure. The colour is intense and bright red. The aroma reminds of red fruits:both sweet and sour cherries, over a spicy and balsamic background. During the bottle agening the wine acquires a precious elegance and a tasty persuasiveness.
