Fattoria San Francesco
Italy - Calabria
Web site: http://www.fattoriasanfrancesco.it/en

The Siciliani family can trace their history back to soldiers, lawmakers
and, indeed, a poet in the 15th century. Domenico di Paolo founded
a monastery in 1578 and planted olive groves and vineyards around
the main building. In 1777 after the suppression of monasteries by
King Ferdinand IV, Don Benedetto Siciliani bought the property at
auction, and Francesco Siciliani, his direct descendant, now runs the
estate on the original site, rich in viticultural history. Francesco is a
trained lawyer, who has dedicated his efforts to experimenting with
the indigenous Gaglioppo grape with award winning results.
