Situated at the foot of the Pratomagno mountains in Tuscany, the Borro Relais & Chateaux Estate encompasses over 700 hectares and incorporates a medieval village.
The Ferragamo family (who purchased the estate in 1993) have planted and replanted 45 hectares of vineyards on the estate with classic Tuscan and French grape varieties.
There are four vineyards, located at 300 to 400 metres above sea level and each chosen for their sunny hillside position, favourable soil, and weather conditions.
The vineyards are: Politi, which is planted with 3 different clones of Sangiovese; Valdarno, situated on a dry lake and planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot; Polissena, planted exclusively with Sangiovese; Laterina, a newly planted vineyard rich in alluvial soil, providing perfect conditions for the Syrah grape and finally Poggio Pietri planted with Chardonnay. www.ilborrowines.com
