Vinification: Naturalis Historia is a Cru made with grapes from an old vineyard in our estate in Mirabella Eclano. The vines are over 40 years of age on average. The vineyard has a South-West facing aspect with a deep, sandy soil with traces of limestone and clay. 400 metres a.s.l.The grapes are manually harvested at the end of October. On arrival at the winery, the grapes undergo a long maceration on the skins to extract the full rich colour and concentrated flavours. The must is then fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tank. The wine is then aged for 24 months in French oak barriques before the final assemblage and bottling.
